What we do

Automation that lasts, on gates that were built for it

An automated gate is a moving machine on your boundary. It needs the right motor for the weight and length of the leaf, proper safety edges and photocells, and a control board set up correctly — otherwise you get a gate that struggles in winter and stops working within two years.

We install underground, ram and articulated arm operators for swing gates, and rack-and-pinion motors for sliders, with battery backup so you’re not stranded in a power cut. Existing gates can usually be automated as they are; if the hanging or posts aren’t up to it, we’ll tell you straight.

Safety first

Force testing, photocells and safe-edge protection fitted and documented on every gate we automate.

What's included

What a gate automation installation includes

Gate assessment

We check leaf weight, hanging, posts and ground levels to specify a motor that won't be working at its limit.

Motor installation

Underground, ram, arm or sliding rack operators from BFT, Came and Nice, wired to a weatherproof control enclosure.

Safety compliance

Photocells, safety edges and force limitation set and tested so the gate stops for a child, a car or an animal.

Entry methods

Remote fobs, keypad, video intercom, GSM dial-to-open or app control — and an exit loop or free-exit sensor for leaving.

Power backup

Battery backup and manual release so you can still get in and out during an outage, plus optional solar for remote entrances.

Repairs & service

We service and repair existing automation from any manufacturer, including boards, motors, hinges and safety devices.

Who it's for

Gate automation for every kind of entrance

Homes

Driveway gates with intercom and app control, so you can let visitors in from the kitchen or from the road on your way home.

Farms

Heavy-duty sliders and long field entrances, with solar options where there's no mains and rugged kit that copes with mud and stock.

Businesses

Yard and compound gates with vehicle loops, free exit, keypad access for deliveries and integration with your access control system.

Where we work

Gate automation across Connacht and the west

We install and repair automated gates throughout Mayo, Galway, Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim. Coastal sites get stainless fixings and sealed enclosures as standard — salt air is unforgiving.

Questions

Gate Automation — frequently asked

Can my existing gates be automated?
Most can. The deciding factors are the weight of the leaf and how well it’s hung. We inspect both first — automating a gate that drags will only wreck the motor.
Battery backup keeps the gate working for a number of cycles, and every operator we fit has a manual release key so you’re never trapped in or out.
When installed correctly, yes. Photocells, safety edges and force limitation are fitted and tested on every gate, and we document the results at handover.
Regularly. We carry parts for the main brands and can usually diagnose a board, motor or safety fault on the first visit.
Will be getting an electric gate over the summer and I wouldn’t bother ringing around — I’ll get the lads to do it.
